Anxiety/ Panic attacks/ self care

The last few weeks have not been great for me, there was a  period, especially at night time, where I felt like my chest was closing in, and i couldn't breathe, and was suffocating. I have never felt so scared in my life.  I then checked the symptoms on the NHS checker, and it stated it could be a panic attack. I knew then that I had to change my ways to start implementing self care.
One of the things that I have started doing is doing regular beauty regimes , this could be various things including face masks, pedicure, manicure, or even cooking. I do enjoy cooking but have to be in the mood to do it. As you would have noticed in my previous posts that I recently bought not one but three cookery books, so I have really been taking a look at them, and the recipes does look amazing
I also went for a massage over the weekend, and it was really good. I hadn't done this for such a long time (over ten years)
The masseuse really repaired my muscles which I felt were tight, and stiff. It was quite painful, I think this was because my body was stiff and tight. I was really nervous as well, so i do tend to become stiff anyways when I feel that way.
I will definately be documenting my massage as I have another appointment in a month, so at least I know what to expect, and I can even do an interview with the masseuse, that's the plan anyways!!  fingers crossed

So the moral of the story- if you do feel like I do, it's really important to practise self care, it will do wonders for your wellbeing, and as someone said to me, if you are not taking care of yourself, how can you care for other people

  1. I am experiencing that for several years. I finally found that self-care and doing makeup help to me as well. We all think about others rather than ourselves. I hope you will find a way to cope with it.

  2. Panic attacks are the worst thing ever happened to me, the only thing that helped me deal with it is working out, so I can recommend that as well.

  3. That last advice is really smart, but I always care about others more than I care about myself. I need to learn to put myself first.

  4. Face masks are the thing I love the most to do when I feel stressed. I think making yourself pretty does the wonders for inner peace.
